PEDRO SILVESTRE TO LEAD CARIBBEAN AND LATIN AMERICAN SALES EFFORTS at FOR-A
FOR-A Corporation of America, a manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, has named Pedro Silvestre as the Regional Sales Manager Caribbean and Latin America. Silvestre will based out of FOR-A s new Miami office, which opened on November 1st.
Silvestre was most recently the Regional Sales Manager for Verite Broadcast Solutions, a systems integrator and broadcast equipment dealer based in Miami. Prior to that, he was the Director of Sales, Latin America, for OneTouch, a developer of enterprise-wide E-learning solutions for corporate television networks. While with OneTouch, Silvestre turned Latin America into 20 percent of the company s sales revenue. He s also worked as an editor at the independent station, KTSF in Brisbane, California.
We re thrilled to have someone with Pedro s background join us at FOR-A, said Mr. Susumu Hotta, President and CEO, FOR-A Corporation of America. He s been involved in every aspect of broadcast production as an editor with a station, working with a dealer/integrator and representing a manufacturer. I m confident his background will serve us well in our efforts in Latin America. Our presence in the Latin American market has grown significantly thanks to our new product line, and we look forward to drawing on Pedro s expertise to increase that even further.
Silvestre is particularly eager to communicate the benefits of FOR-A s new HD/SD line of switchers, frame synchronizers, and signal processing equipment to the Latin American market. Some products, such as the FA-9000 HD/SD super signal processor, introduced at NAB this year, have yet to be introduced in Latin America. The FA-9000 supports all video signals from signal type conversion to format conversion. It uses 12-bit internal processing and features an up-converter, down-converter, color corrector, and SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) control — all in 1RU.
FOR-A has a long tradition of outstanding quality and innovation, said Silvestre. The company s line of switchers and frame synchronizers is second to none in the market. There is huge potential for FOR-A products in Latin America, and I see very strong growth for the company there next year. My objective is to work with FOR-A s existing distributors as well as new ones to address the overall market needs. I ll work to train our distributor s sales force, identify new opportunities and provide the marketing support they need to position our products properly in the marketplace.
