2010 Vancouver Games to cost less than expected
An aggressive plan to sell almost all of the tickets for the 2010
Winter Olympics, as well as the richest broadcast contract in Olympic
history, are helping Games organizers meet their budget targets and possibly exceed them,
organizers say. The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010
Olympics released its business plan Tuesday and announced the $1.63
billion it will cost to put on the show is actually about $100,000 less
than it planned.
