Fox Cable Networks to Distribute New Channel with WEGENER Equipment

Wegener
Corporation, a provider of equipment for television, audio and data
distribution networks worldwide, announced that the Big Ten Network (BTN) will
use WEGENER satellite receive equipment to make available programming of the
Big Ten Network to BTN’s affiliates. The Big Ten Network is a new
national cable/satellite programming service dedicated to covering both the
athletic and academic content of the Big Ten Conference.

The
network will be available to all North American cable and satellite carriers
and television distributors, with most programs offered in high-definition television
(HDTV). The network is scheduled to launch during August, 2007.

WEGENER’s
linear video distribution solution includes the Unity 4600 satellite receivers,
COMPEL network control system and COMPEL encryption. The Unity 4600
receiver is a professional-grade device that provides digital reception of SD
and HD television signals. COMPEL Control will provide the Big Ten
Network with the ability to support multiple live sporting events, regionalize
commercial insertions and remotely re-tune WEGENER receivers.

“We are
excited to continue to support Fox Cable Networks through the Big Ten Network
launch,” stated

Ned

L.
Mountain,
President and COO of WEGENER. “Our field proven solution for linear HD
programming will ensure a smooth North American launch.”
