SVG dives into Surround Sound issues on Oct. 4

The Sports Video Group, in conjunction with Technology Visions, will present a one-day Surround Sound seminar next Thursday, Oct. 4 just prior to the opening of the AES convention in Manhattan. The event will be held at the Broad Street Ballroom at 41 Broad Street, a slight hike down to lower Manhattan but one that SVG editorial director Ken Kerschbaumer says will be worth the trip.

“The event will not only feature some of the most knowledgable Surround Sound experts in the entire broadcast industry but it will also feature a specially calibrated Klein & Hummel Studio monitor system configured for expanded 5.1 playback,” he says. “Toss in a DigiCo console, acoustic matrix processing from TiMax, and professional DVD playback hardware and attendees are in for an auditory treat that will really make the issues and challenges apparent.”

The Sports Video Group will sponsor and provide
a special panel of experts, including Ron Scalise of ESPN, Bob Seidel
and Bruce Goldfeder of CBS, and Jim Starzynski of NBC, for an in-depth
discussion “Surround Operational Issues-What Happens When It Leaves the
Truck?” moderated by Ken Kerschbaumer of Sports Video Group. Vendor experts on the panel include Jim Hilson of Dolby, Tim Carroll of Linear Acoustic and Randy Conrod of Harris.

Other highlights include presentation by Fox Sports’ Fred Alduous and Tom Sahara of Turner Sports. To register for the event please click here.
