Mark Milliere Appointed Vice-President, Production, TSN

Phil King,
President of TSN, appointed Mark Milliere to the position of
Vice-President, Production. Reporting to King and effective immediately,
Milliere will oversee all aspects of TSN’s live productions and in-house shows,
including SportsCentre, Off The Record, NHL on TSN, CFL on TSN, NBA, curling
and baseball. He is also responsible for hiring production staff and
talent.

A two-time
Gemini Award winner, Milliere has dedicated his entire 20-year career to TSN,
most of which has been with

SportsCentre,

Canada’s most
watched sports news program. Most recently, Milliere was Vice-President
of News & NHL on TSN, where he was responsible for the editorial content
and on-air presentation for SportsCentre, as well as all aspects of the NHL on
TSN telecasts, including game and studio production and talent.

Milliere’s
vision and innovations have been instrumental in the growth and development of
TSN’s productions over the years, strengthening the network’s position as the
leader in the industry. Under Milliere’s guidance and leadership, TSN
implemented the 1 Up/1 Down and Front Row Centre broadcasting techniques for
NHL telecasts, introduced the popular daily SportsCentre Top 10 segment, created
numerous hockey specials including TradeCentre, Free Agent Frenzy and Fantasy
Drafts, created new invigorating formats for Off The Record and Molson That’s
Hockey, and launched SportsCentre in High Definition, as TSN became the first
Canadian broadcaster to deliver a daily newscast – sports or non-sports – in
HD.

Milliere,
a native of Georgetown, Ont., joined TSN in 1987 as an Editorial Assistant at
SportsCentre (then called SPORTSDESK) while still a student at Ryerson
University in the Radio & Television Arts program. He was soon
promoted to Story Editor (1988), Associate Producer (1990), Producer (1992),
Senior Producer (1998) and Executive Producer (2000). Milliere added the
NHL on TSN to his duties in 2003.
