High Point University Upgrades Facilities with Daktronics Displays

Daktronics
Inc. has designed, manufactured and installed new integrated scoring and video
systems for High Point University in High
Point, N.C.

These
systems come as additions to the Daktronics equipment already installed on High Point’s campus. The
Panthers previously upgraded their Millis
Convocation Center
with a scoring and display system, complete with digital light emitting diode
(LED) scorer’s tables.

“All
of the improvements made within our athletics facilities in the past few years,
including adding these boards to the soccer and baseball fields, really
enhances the game atmosphere and makes them top-notch venues,” said Ryan
Tressel, Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations at High Point University.

High Point ‘s new video displays utilize the
latest in Daktronics proven red, green and blue (RGB) LED technology. They can
be used to present live and recorded video images, colorful animation and vivid
graphics with incredible brightness and wide-angle visibility. The displays
offer a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption,
providing value and excitement for years to come.

“Daktronics
is excited to continue our great relationship with High Point University
by installing our latest technology into their baseball, basketball, soccer and
track facilities,” said Eric Lingren, Daktronics Sales. “This
university is constantly growing and changing, and we are glad to be a part of it by creating a better game day atmosphere for
all Panther fans.”

The new
display in the completely renovated Coy O. Williard Baseball Stadium measures
approximately 15-feet-high by 34-feet-wide. High Point’s new system comes complete with an
LED baseball scoreboard that shows batting and statistical information, keeping
every Panther fan in the game.

The
Richard A. Vert Track and Soccer Stadium received an LED display that measures
approximately 12-feet-high by 28-feet-wide. Opened last spring, the stadium
hosts events for all Panther track and soccer teams.
