Are Sony Bravia Link Owners An Example Of The Future Of Media Distribution?

The New York Times reports that Sony Pictures will give owners of the Bravia Link box (it delivers Internet signals to Bravia HDTV sets) an opportunity to rent the movie Hancock after its theater run but before it’s home video release. The move points to the future of TV/Internet convergence as the pipe could be used to deliver exclusive content rather than simply a big-screen version of a small-screen experience.
