NAB Preview: Ericsson To Demo Wide Array of New Offerings

At NAB, Ericsson will feature live demonstrations of its complete solutions for SD, HD, and 3D content distribution and direct-to-home delivery with new compression and video-processing products for terrestrial, satellite, cable, and fiber/telco.

The new Ericsson CE-xH42 Contribution Encoder provides broadcasters and operators with the highest video quality and compression efficiency in the most feature-rich and future-proof 1RU platform on the market. The MPEG-4 AVC HD 4:2:2 encoder delivers the highest contribution-video quality, enabling broadcasters to capture and archive pristine HD content. Combined with Ericsson’s new MPEG-4 AVC Contribution Receiver, the RX8200, the CE-xH42 delivers the first true system solution for HD MPEG-4 AVC contribution.

The Ericsson RX8200 Advanced Modular Receiver offers ultimate configurability, providing an à la carte choice of functionality with a feature range stretching from the most basic up to ultimate MPEG-4 4:2:2 10-bit capability. The RX8200 can be tailored to standard-definition or high-definition uses with MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 AVC decode technology; connectivity to the receiver is achieved with DVB-S2. The RX8200 can be integrated into a variety of system architectures, including ASI, IP and satellite delivery systems through a choice of input and output modules.
