XOS Digital has named Tom Knapp president and general manager for the company’s Digital Media Services group.

Based in the company’s co-headquarters in Orlando, Knapp will lead the Digital Media Services team inclusive of product development, operations, broadcast production, sales, marketing and communications. XOS Digital Media Services encompasses several of the company’s priority service offerings including the XOS Vault digital asset management system, XOS Digital Sports Networks, the XOS Syndicated Digital Sports Network, and the Digital Media Licensing Group.

“Tom’s experience in sports marketing and media sales will be a great asset for our company,” says Chris McCleary, XOS Digital’s CEO. “He has unique experiences in custom branded sports content, remote studio shows with live audiences, program entitlements, product placement and various brand integration concepts. I’m confident that he can apply his valuable experiences to enhance the success of our Digital Media Services group.”

Prior to joining XOS Digital, Knapp spent nearly a decade as the VP of strategic partnerships at The Golf Channel (a division of Comcast Sports Sales). During his time there, he worked closely with the PGA TOUR and LPGA TOUR’s respective broadcasting, legal and corporate marketing departments to ensure execution and compliance with Golf Channel’s league agreements. He also created and placed custom Golf Channel media platforms to each league’s title sponsors and official marketing partners to help them with their respective golf-related initiatives.

Before joining the Golf Channel, Knapp spent four years as the director of Olympic sales at NBC’s Television Stations Division in New York. Prior to NBC, he served as an account executive at CBS Spot Sales. He also has five years of experience as an account executive at the New York office of Harrington, Righter and Parsons, Inc., an independent television rep firm.

Knapp graduated from the Ohio University School of Telecommunications where he earned his degree in broadcast management. He currently resides in Orlando with his wife of 18 years and their three children.
