Super Bowl XLV: Game Creek Video Deploys Arsenal of Sony Cameras

Game Creek Video will deploys a variety of Sony HD cameras for Fox Sports’ broadcast of Super Bowl XLV this weekend. They include 32 of Sony’s HDC-1500 multi-format cameras and four HDC-3300 3x slow-motion cameras.

Game Creek will have eight trucks on site, including its FX HD mobile production system for the game, Liberty for pre-game activities, and Patriot for a celebrity-red carpet pre-game segment. The Sony cameras will be used for each of these broadcasts, with the HDC-1500 cameras serving as the primary field-production units. The HDC-3300 slow-motion systems will be in each end zone, with two of the cameras used as hand-held units.

Game Creek’s president Pat Sullivan is very familiar with Sony’s professional HD cameras, having used them for the past several years on several high-profile live events, including the NBA Finals, Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game and World Series, and NASCAR’s Daytona 500 and other FOX Sports NASCAR events, as well as NFL regular season and playoff games on FOX Sports.

Sony has provided its professional HD equipment for the NFL’s big game for the past several years, and the technology has evolved to meet the game’s increasing production requirements and more complex camera angles.
