VER Expands Rental Offerings with Grass Valley Gear

Video Equipment Rentals (VER) has added a variety of new high-definition cameras and a new video production switcher from Grass Valley to its extensive inventory of HD production equipment.

The company will now offer the Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam camera, capable of acquiring images in all HD format types; the LDK 8300 HD Super SloMo camera system, which can be used in 3X mode or as a standard HD camera; and the LDK 3000, a multi-format HD camera with three Xensium imagers, for economical live staging projects.

As part of this latest equipment order, VER has also added a new Grass Valley Kayak 3 M/E HD switcher, further expanding their rental inventory of Kayak HD switchers (they currently offer several) and other production equipment. One of the Grass Valley Kayak HD switchers purchased by VER earlier this year immediately went to use in support of a major concert tour in Europe.

“We’re committed to providing the best equipment, largest selection, and newest technology available anywhere and wanted to offer a complete production package that includes the Grass Valley cameras and the Kayak switcher in a flyaway kit,” says Howard Rosenthal, director of broadcast for VER. “For us, and our clients, it’s all about image quality and system reliability. Grass Valley products offer both.

“VER supports a wide variety of projects and has chosen Grass Valley equipment knowing that they’ll get a fast return on their investment because our cameras and switchers can be used on a variety of projects,” explains Jeff Rosica, EVPof Grass Valley.  “These are the first cameras going to VER and we expect the relationship to grow significantly over time.”

VER has served the broadcast and A/V markets for over 26 years. With 24 offices in the United States, Canada, and Europe, the veteran rental company will use the Grass Valley equipment to support its expanding Live Sports and Entertainment clients across all of the markets it serves.
