From Golf Courses to Raceways, BSI Surpasses 500 Venues Worked

Broadcast Sports, Inc. (BSI), a developer and service provider of wireless camera, audio and communication systems, recently added the 500th venue to the company’s growing list of locations it services.

The list includes 500 unique sites around the world – from golf courses to mountainsides, racetracks to arenas – where BSI’s teams have provided the RF infrastructure and wireless equipment for a broad range of events. The achievement comes a year earlier than expected as the company initially planned to reach the milestone in conjunction with its 30th anniversary celebration in 2013.

“This is a small, but important accomplishment for BSI,” explains Mark Polla, Sales & Marketing Manager for BSI. “The demand for our technology and services has increased significantly as content providers have realized the advantages of going wireless in their productions. They call us because they know our teams are always prepared to go anywhere the show goes.”

BSI’s roster includes 245 golf courses and 109 auto racing venues alone. The remaining number is rounded out with venues for an assortment of one-time or short-term events. These are held in a variety of locations that range in size and scope from Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, CO where the Winter X Games are held to the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. where the 2009 Presidential Inauguration was held. It wasn’t until 2008 that BSI began inputting each venue into a database, meaning the company has serviced 500 venues in a mere four years.

“It’s a testament to our broad range of experience and capabilities as a company,” says Polla. “Our customers call on us because they know we will provide flawless service whether they are asking us to support them at a new location or a venue we’ve worked for many years.”
