Brazil’s Sistema Clube Invests in EVS, Preps for Upcoming Major Sporting Events

EVS, a leading provider of broadcast and media production systems for sports, news, and TV entertainment, announced that Sistema Clube has invested in EVS systems for its new HD mobile production truck. A long-time customer of EVS, Sistema Clube has invested in the new truck for sporting events and concerts, as well as in preparation for the major sporting events taking place in Brazil in 2014 and 2016.

Sistema Clube has equipped the new truck with four eight-channel SD/HD EVS XT3 servers for complete media control from ingest to playout, including live editing, slow-motion replays, multi-channel playback and transfer to third-party systems.

“We were looking to invest in a system which would give us the flexibility to produce not only live sporting events, but also concerts, live TV shows and news from the new truck,” said Rafael Pizani, marketing director, Sistema Clube. “We opted for EVS’ state-of-the-art solution due to its reliability and the fact that EVS sets the standard for the broadcast industry.”

Feeds and clips from the XT3 servers will be stored on five EVS XFly SATA-based portable storage cases.  Each case provides up to 6.2TB of storage with capacity for 140 hours of HD at 100Mbps. After the live shoot, Sistema Clube’s operators can transport the entire production, including program feed, multiple camera angles and highlights in a single XFly case which can then be plugged into the editing suite to enable editors to immediately begin their creative tasks.

EVS’ IPDirector suite of video production management applications gives Sistema Clube complete control of ingest, metadata, on-the-fly editing and playout scheduling from a single interface. Using IPDirector, XFly and XFly Streamer, Sistema Clube has implemented a multi-camera workflow from ingest to post. Multiple isolated camera feeds recorded on the XT3 servers can be streamed simultaneously on the XFly portable storage device, providing efficient integration between remote productions and post-production facilities.

Sistema Clube has been using EVS systems since 1997, and today has more than 10 EVS servers in their mobile production trucks. “We’re pleased to be building on our long-standing relationship with Sistema Clube as they prepare for the international sporting events that will be taking place in Brazil over the coming years,” said Benjamin Mariage, Latin America sales manager, EVS. “With EVS’ reliable, high-performance systems, their new HD production truck is one of the most advanced in the region.”
