NAB 2016: Fujinon to Intro Three New 2/3-Inch Lenses

Fujifilm President Shigehiro Nakajima has announced the launch of three new Fujinon lenses at NAB next week: the UA13x4.5 wide zoom lens is capable of shooting at an ultra-wide-angle of 4.5mm; the UA80x9 1.2 EXT zoom lens achieving a telephoto focal length of 864mm with a 1.2x extender; and the UA107x8.4 4K broadcast zoom lens with a zoom ratio of 107x.

Fujinon's UA107x8.4 4K broadcast zoom lens has a zoom of 107x.

Fujinon’s UA107x8.4 4K broadcast zoom lens has a zoom of 107x.

With a resolution exceeding 4K, high contrast and high dynamic range, the UA13x4.5  is a wide-zoom lens that achieves a focal length of 4.5mm for ultra-wide-angle shooting with a minimum object distance of 0.3m.

By adopting an ultra-high-precision large-diameter aspherical lens, issues that super-wide-angle lenses are prone to, such as image distortion and a decrease in peripheral resolution, are controlled as much as possible, making high-resolution possible for the entire zoom range.

In addition, on the telephoto side, the lens covers a focal length up to 59mm (118mm with the built-in 2X extender).

The UA80x9 1.2x EXT is a high-magnification zoom lens with a built-in 1.2x extender. Even when using the 1.2x extender, a resolution exceeding 4K, high contrast and high dynamic range are achieved across the entire zoom range up to a focal length of 864mm, according to Fujinon.

The UA107x8.4 is part of the “4K Premier” Series and covers a range from a best-in-class wide-angle of 8.4mm to a super-telephoto range of 900mm, supporting 4K shooting needs for a variety of applications.

The floating focus system, which controls multiple lens groups according to the shooting distance, achieves high-resolution footage across the entire zoom range. In addition, thanks to Fujifilm’s proprietary “optical stabilization mechanism,” image blur due to platform shaking is corrected, allowing a stable image to be shot.
