TuneIn Expands College Sports Content Relationships With IMG, Learfield, Fox Sports, and Sun Devil Media Network

Just in time for the 2016 college football season, TuneIn has extended its relationship with IMG, Learfield, Fox Sports, and Sun Devil Media Network to bring live play-by-play and various shoulder programming from a total 146 universities to its global audience.

This marks a record number of universities for which live play-by-play and school-specific audio content will be available to alumni and fans around the globe via TuneIn’s free level of service. TuneIn’s complete college sports network is built through partnerships with Learfield (76 schools), IMG (61 schools), FOX Sports (five schools), OUTFRONT Media (three schools), plus an independent agreement with Arizona State.

“TuneIn is all about bringing the excitement of live sports experiences to passionate listeners wherever they are, and there’s no group that defines passion like college sports fans,” says Kevin Straley, TuneIn Chief Content Officer. “We are thrilled to be working with a great group of media partners and universities that allows us to deliver the these live experiences to fans and alumni across the world for free, keeping listeners connected to their university.”

As part of TuneIn’s partnership with IMG comes the re-launch of the College Sports Now channel that will broadcast two IMG-produced original programs: A two-hour college sports round-up show airing weekdays from 10 a.m. – Noon ET and Nissan College Football Blitz, dropping listeners into live college football games from around the country every Saturday starting at 2 p.m. ET.

Of the total 146 universities with school-specific stations available on TuneIn, 121 include college football with live play-by-play coverage from the home radio network. 21 of the AP Top 25 teams are available, including top-ranked and defending National Champion Alabama. Additionally, a pair of Top 25-ranked teams – Oklahoma (No. 3) and Michigan State (No. 12) join TuneIn’s college sports network for the first time this season.

Each college station gives fans worldwide 24/7, free access to live play-by-play audio streams, as well as on-demand programming. While the programming lineup varies across all 146 stations, college sports that will stream live on TuneIn include football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and hockey, as well as coaches’ shows.

2016 has been a year of “firsts” for TuneIn as it relates to its growth in the live sports content space. In addition to offering a record-number of college sports stations, the world’s largest audio network will also stream complete seasons of live play-by-play from every home MLB, NFL and NBA game broadcast for the first time this year.
